About the book

My Friends Youth is designed for a stage of life when young people are developing greater independence and making more choices for themselves. It gives them space to consider who they are, what matters to them and how they want to respond to the world around them.

Young people explore the links between emotional intensity, body signals, thoughts and actions. They consider ways to be present, settle their attention, use helpful self-talk and understand situations from more than one perspective.

The book turns reflection into practical action. Young people work with meaningful goals, weigh possible solutions, consider the effects of their choices, communicate their needs respectfully and identify people who can offer guidance and support.

Interactive scenarios and personal activities encourage young people to apply the ideas to their own lives, prepare for future situations and recognise how they can contribute to others and their community. Their responses and progress are saved so they can return to their work over time.
