On-demand Online Training
NEPS and FR have recently collaborated to produce a
series of on-line modules for training Primary Teachers in the Republic of Ireland in the FRIENDS
for Life Programme, (suited to upper Primary School). Teachers wishing to access this training must
be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland.
The FRIENDS for Life training consists of 3 modules,
covering the foundation of the FRIENDS programmes, as well as the specific FRIENDS for Life Programme.
Teachers who access this training will be required to complete the “on demand” modules, at the time and
place of their choosing. This allows teachers to go at their own pace and reflect, as they work through
the training. All of the modules run for 4 hours, and can be paused for regular reflection on the content.
Continuous assessment is built into each module, which must be completed in order to access the subsequent
modules, and ultimately receive aCertificate, as a trained Facilitator. Upon the successful completion of
the training and receipt of certification, Teachers will then be able to register for access to the Irish
FR hub. Teachers will be asked to evaluate the training once it is completed.
